15 years

Today was 15 years of marriage!

We went to a local burger joint and celebrated with orange soda...

... and a chocolate shake!

sugar plum skunk fairy

There she is, our sugar plum skunk fairy!

Today was her dance recital and I had told her she would be dancing on the big stage like we saw at the Nutcracker. Well, she got in her head she was dancing in the Nutcracker as a sugar plum fairy but in reality she was dancing in Pinnochio and she was a puppet skunk... that did not go over well so we dropped the puppet and added skunk to the sugar plum fairy she thought she was. The stage was HUGE and extremely well lit so I had a hard time adjusting my photography and didn't get as many good shots as I had hoped for.

After her performance, she's tickled pink with the flowers Jaiden gave her!

This is what it is all about... being a mom to these two cuties!

We enjoyed a lovely hike exploration along the rocks and I got to spend time taking tons of photos... way too many to posts (maybe I should add that to my ever growing list of albums to upload to Snapfish!). This photo is probably my only one with the two of them in it. I am not sure what they were looking at but they look so deep in concentration.

At breakfast this morning, we had a very entertaining conversation. Jaiden loves to ask "who likes...., raise your hand?" questions but this morning's left me in stitches.

Jaiden: Raise your hand if you are a moron driver.

No hands are raised...

Alyssa: Daddy, raise your hand!

Daddy (looking a bit perturbed): I'm not raising my hand.

Jaiden repeats more insistently(lots of laughter from me): Raise your hand if you are a moron driver!

Still no hands raised...

Alyssa: DADDY (tugging on his arm) raise your HAND!

Daddy (very annoyed but laughing): I am NOT a moron driver.

I can not contain myself anymore... laughter and tears I am laughing so hard. Glad they weren't asking me to raise my hand! Oh, and Mom, apparently Dennis calls drivers morons too!

tea party

Today at preschool... all mommies were invited back for Mother's Day Tea at 10:30 am.

Little did I know it would look this!

... unfortunately you can't see my hat but not bad for a 4 yr old with an SLR!

... she had to try on another hat and give me her wink!

I forgot to photograph the flower she planted for me. So sweet. Her teachers are really something. I am going to miss them next year very much!

monkey bars and drawing people

We made it home very late last night... about 10 pm and the kids fell fast asleep! Thank goodness, too because I was quite tired. This morning was wonderful. Jaiden had late start which really means he doesn't have school on those days, so we ventured to the park and I tried practicing some new techniques with my camera.

I hope to perfect this image with a few more practice shots. Jaiden has learned how to do the monkey bars but he prefers the ones at school. These felt a little too daunting so the photo shoot of his accomplishment ended too quickly. Bummer for me since I was having fun playing with this week's assignment.

Then tonight just before bed and right after bath, Jaiden and I finished up his homework. Whenever I say "okay time to do homework Jaiden", he groans and Alyssa says "I need to do my homework too!" which usually entails her making circles or little strange drawings, occasionally trying to write the letter A but tonight was different... I looked over and there she was - drawing people! Real honest to goodness people. I got so excited and she did too so she drew all of us. I only captured a few of us on film it was getting a little late and then it was too dark but in the meantime...

Yes, we saw Ariel at Ariel's Grotto but we also ...

... learned to dance with Belle ...

... and then the trick questions began. First off, Jaiden asked Snow White if she would like an apple? She replied "Have you been talking to my evil stepmother?"

... then he asked Cinderella what is the best way to clean floors?

She replied "I don't think that is a very funny joke!" in a very sweet princess way.

... then it was Sleeping Beauty's turn, he asked if she was very tired. She said "Thank you for asking but I feel very well rested and have recovered from my long sleep!"

... and we kept seeing Tinkerbelle flit around wherever we went. Tinkerbelle was delighted to be having dinner with all her friends. It was a magical evening!

Next year's Christmas card?

We finally get Jaiden on Alice in Wonderland! and then it was again, and again, and again... you get the picture right?

At about 11 am... our little tinkerbell takes a snooze ...

We headed over to the Grand Californian and it seemed appropriate the kids and Daddy would choose a Chinese food container to ride in!

I forget the name of this bug but it was a grumpy ladybug that swirled around real fast!

Another busy day at the park... tonight is a character dinner at Ariel's Grotto... who do you think will be there?

Mickey, Minnie... oh my!

We have been busy these past few days...

We bounced around with Tigger...

We hugged and kissed Mickey and Minnie...

We made faces with Cruella de Vil ...

We skipped around with Tinkerbell...

We laughed with Goofy...

We got a special magic lesson ... (beware Jaiden is learning magic!)

... and some of us crashed before the firework show!

All in all, this is lots of fun and there is absolutely no way I will ever be caught up with all the Snapfish albums I need to upload ;) but I will try!
