happy mom's day

 Happy Mother's Day!

What a treat it is to be a mom ... to have two precious kids who make me the sweetest things and each have to buy their own bouquets of tulips (awesome!), who come up with their own ideas of what an ideal mother's day would look like... including walking a 9k and then as if that wasn't enough going for a bike ride... having a husband who makes me brunch while I am dragging along on the 9k, and then later making me my favorite niçoise salad for dinner (yum!)...  but  seriously what a fabulous day!
Jaiden and I at the start of our 9k - check out that sun flare, oh and that double chin and the fly away hair! This was his ideal Mother's day... in fact, it almost didn't happen. I had no idea why he got it into his head that he wanted to do this 9k run/walk but he did. And I am glad he did - it was awesome, exhausting but totally awesome.
Keep calm and eat ice cream...
can it get much better than that?
Still walking but starting to slow down ...
Yes, almost there but my favorite sign was this one...
that pretty much felt like me at the end especially when Jaiden said "mom, we are definitely doing this again next year!
And we made it and we got more ice cream too!

Off to home for yummy brunch, only to be told by Miss Alyssa it was her turn for some mommy time... (oh please let it mean lying on the couch snuggling...)
rats, back on my feet but thankfully pedaling to the park because yes, I always want to go to the park and ...
... lie on the grass, play with my iPhone photo apps and watch the clouds...
oh, right, we came to swing!

And that pretty much sums up my day! I hope you enjoyed yours doing something relaxing and fun!

happy may day

hello May... in fact, happy May day!

I received this adorable May day basket of real flowers from my sweet little girl scouts and I couldn't resist taking a photo with ... yes, snow in the background!

We woke to a lovely 2-3 inches on the ground and ended up with about 8-9 inches by nightfall! And yes, we were in the 60s yesterday, 20-30s today and forecast says mid-40s tomorrow... loving Spring!
